Read What You Want Not What Your Supposed to 21 Book Favorites of 2017
It’s the time of the year for the best books to read and must read lists are published everywhere. How many times have you read a New York Times best seller and were disappointed and wondered how could the book be so loved by everyone.
Books are like wine, each one has it’s uniqueness and personal tastes and are so different for most. I typically read in certain areas of non-fiction and fiction every year because it’s my personal choice not what someone recommends as a must read. Reading for enjoyment and learning are what I look for and you might be quite different when selecting books. Audiobooks are something to consider for 2018 to change your normal routine.
Reading wide with a few deep ones during the year is another personal philosophy. For example in the non fiction area, consider a great book you read and re-read it 3 times while taking notes and applying the lessons or ideas in the given year – my 3 personal favorites in 2017 with deep learning were “What Doesn’t Kill Us” and “Tools of Titans” and “An Odyssey: A Father Son and an Epic”.
I am not recommending these as must reads, but just a list of books in a few categories that I found that to be on my “Best Seller” list. These are in no special order:

1. Extreme Ownership
2. The Paleo Manifesto
3. Tools of Titans

5. What Doesn’t Kill Us
6. High Performance Habits

If you are suffering through a book hoping it will get better (because everyone states it’s a must read) – just stop reading the BOOK as there are way too many books to enjoy. Reading should fulfill enjoyment first. I would love to hear from you and your favorite reads, send me a message!
